Certificate for Children & Young People’s Workforce (CYP) 2

Who is this for?

The qualification is aimed at individuals who are already working or about to work in a supporting role within a Nursery, Crèche or in education.

What will I study?

The Certificate in CYP is made up of mandatory and optional units.
To achieve the level 2 qualification, you are required to complete a minimum of 35 credits made up of:- Group A, 29 Mandatory credits and a minimum 6 credits from optional units

Mandatory units:

  • Introduction to Communication in Health, Social Care or Children’s and Young People’s Settings

  • Introduction to Personal Development in Health, Social Care or Children & and Young People’s Settings

  • Introduction to Equality and Inclusion in Health, Social Care or Children’s and Young People’s Settings

  • Child and Young Person Development

  • Contribute to the Support of Child and Young Person Development

  • Safeguarding the Welfare of Children and Young People

  • Contribute to Children and Young People’s Health and Safety Support Children and Young People’s Positive Behaviour

  • Contribute to the Support of Positive Environments for Children and Young People

  • Understand Partnership Working in Services for Children and Young People

  • Maintain and Support Relationships with Children and Young People

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants must have achieved level 1 in English

Mandatory Entry Requirements

  • DBS is required

  • Interview and assessment

How long is the Course?

The course is for 9 months.
The delivery of the qualification is made up of online and classroom delivery with 1-day per week compulsory work placement
