Diploma in Care (Adults) - Level 4

Who is this for?

The qualification is enables individuals to gain the knowledge and skills to work in a senior role within Adult Care. This qualification can help to gain employment or support towards career progression withaimed at Community Care /Support Officers, Social Care Assessor, Social Work Assistants, Occupational Assessment Officer.

What will I study?

The Diploma in Care is made up of mandatory and optional units, to achieve the level 4 qualification, you mustare required to complete a minimum of 70 credits made up of:

Mandatory units:

  • Work in partnership in health and social care or children and young people’s settings 

  • Advanced communication skills 

  • Personal development in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings 

  • Equality and diversity in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings 

  • Facilitate person centred assessment to support wellbeing of individuals 

  • Facilitate support planning to ensure positive outcomes for individuals and to support well being 

  • Understand personalisation in care and support services 

  • Health and safety in health and social care settings 

  • Professional practice in health and social care for adults or children and young 

people 

  • Safeguard children and young people who are present in the adult social care sector 

  • Develop, maintain and use records and reports 

  • Understand safeguarding and protection in health and social care settings 

Mandatory Group 36 credits

Group A: a minimum of 6 credits

Group B: a minimum of 28 credits  

At least 55 credits must be achieved at Level 4 or above.

What are the entry requirements?

Work experience as a Senior Care Worker; Support Worker; Team Leader, Manager and or Level 3 qualification in Health.

Mandatory Entry Requirements

  • DBS is required

  • Interview and assessment

How long is the Course?

The course is for 15 months.
The delivery of the qualification is made up of online and classroom delivery with
1-day per week compulsory work placement.
