Diploma in Care (Adults) - Level 3

Who is this for?

The qualification is aimed at Lead Care Workers, Support Workers and Key Workers in a range of Adult Care settings.

What will I study?

The Diploma in Care Level 3 is made up of mandatory and optional units, below is a list of some of the topics that will be covered.

Mandatory units:

  • Safeguarding and protection in care settings

  • Responsibilities of a care worker 

  • Promote health, safety and wellbeing in care settings  

  • Promote communication in care settings

  • Promote effective handling of information in care settings

  • Duty of care in care settings

  • Promote equality and inclusion in care settings

  • Promote person centred approaches in care settings 

To achieve the level 3 qualification, you are required to complete a minimum of 58 credits made up of :-

Group A, 28 Mandatory credits

Group B and C minimum 30 credits

Group B a minimum of 20 credits  

Group C, a maximum of 10 credits

At least 58 credits 43 credits must be at level 3 and above. 


What are the entry requirements?

Working experience as a Senior Care Worker/Team Leader and or Level 2 Ccertificate in Health & Social Care.

Mandatory Entry Requirements

  • DBS is required

  • Interview and assessment

How long is the Course?

The course length is 9 months.
